Obtaining Your Account on CS Servers

If your class requires Linux computer access, your Linux account is created automatically through a request from your professor. So you receive your user name and password from your professor. If this is not the case, please send your name and e-mail address to acrum @ hood.edu to obtain your Linux account. In your e-mail, provide the name of the course you are taking and the name of your professor.

Normally your account is created on the pluto.hood.edu server. This also allows you to access your account in the ht319 lab. You will receive your user name and password via e-mail. When you receive your password, please reset your password.

To change your password using "passwd" command, see the following document.
